Built from
rich ground
alluvial | əˈlōōvēəl | adjective: the fertile soil deposited over time by moving water. A name chosen because everything worth building takes patience, depth, and the right conditions.
Fashion has always been the family business. Building brands became ours. With more than four decades of family history in the women’s apparel industry, Alluvial was built on an understanding of the business that began long before the company had a name. Founder, Analeise Thomas, worked her first market at thirteen in her father’s Dallas showroom. Years later, she opened a showroom of her own in Atlanta and began to see an opportunity beyond representing great brands: to build brands of her own.
In 2019, Analeise and her husband and co-founder, John Thomas, took the leap from representing brands to building one. Their first brand, S’EDGE (now Thomas & Lourdes), launched in January 2020. At the time, John was managing production in Los Angeles, traveling from cut-and-sew facilities to dye houses and finishing houses. The process was fragmented, inefficient, and difficult to scale. Two months after launch, COVID brought the industry to a standstill.
The disruption forced them to rethink how the business was built and gave them the opportunity to rebuild it entirely. In 2022, Alluvial moved production overseas to vertical factories capable of delivering full-package products, creating a more efficient foundation for growth and the infrastructure to build multiple brands. Alden Adair launched that same year, followed by Le Marais in 2023 and Double A in 2025.
THE ORIGIN
Where it Began
Analeise brought something that cannot be taught: the instinct that comes from a lifetime inside the industry and years spent building brands from the ground up. John brought financial discipline, operational rigor, and the long-term thinking that carried the company through its hardest years and positioned it for growth. Together, they built something neither would have built alone.
Alluvial Apparel Company takes its name from the rich soil deposited by water over time, formed slowly, layer by layer, until something fertile emerges. It is a philosophy as much as a name: a belief in building thoughtfully, growing with purpose, and creating something meant to last.
What began with one collection has grown into a fashion house of six distinct brands, each with its own identity, united by intention, instinct, and a deep understanding of the women who wear them.

Analeise Reeves Thomas
Chief Creative Officer
John grew up in Northeast Louisiana, studied economics at Ole Miss, and began his career trading commodities and equities in Chicago before returning home to build businesses in agricultural real estate, land appraisal, and commercial development. His work eventually expanded into site selection, due diligence, and acquisition for national retail development, including more than 50 Dollar General locations across six years.
John entered the fashion industry without a traditional fashion background which became one of his greatest strengths. His ability to read markets, assess value, and think in terms of trajectory has shaped how Alluvial operates and how it grows. His instinct has always been the same: understand what something is worth, where it is going, and whether it is built to last.
Analeise grew up in the women's apparel industry across three generations. Her grandmother, Linda Reeves, owned a high-end boutique in Louisiana, Signatures by Linda Reeves, for more than 40 years, where Analeise spent her childhood receiving product, organizing the sales floor, and wrapping gifts at Christmas. By high school she was modeling for the store’s TV and print campaigns and writing its monthly lifestyle column for the local lifestyle magazine. Her father, Donald Reeves, has owned and operated one of Dallas’s leading contemporary showrooms, D. Reeves & Company, for more than 30 years. From the age of thirteen, Analeise worked markets alongside him, learning to sell from one of the best in the business. At markets, her days were split between selling on the showroom floor with her father and sitting in on buying appointments with her grandmother, learning the business from both sides of the table.
In 2015, Analeise and her father expanded the family business to Atlanta under the name Reeves & Company, growing the family’s showroom presence across both Dallas and Atlanta. There, she spent years helping build brands from the ground up into multimillion-dollar businesses alongside the retailers who carried them. That rare understanding of the customer, the buyer, and the product became the foundation for building brands of her own. Today, Analeise leads creative direction across the Alluvial portfolio, with a point of view shaped equally by a lifetime in the industry and her life as a wife and mother of four who wears what she creates.

THE NAMES
Every name tells a story
Click any name to learn where it comes from.
-
Alluvial soil is what forms in a delta: rich ground deposited slowly by water over time. John grew up on a farm in the Louisiana Delta. The name is both literally where this family comes from and a philosophy about how to build something that lasts.
-
Alden is Analeise's middle name: a name she carried her whole life before lending it to the brand she built for women who want to stand out.
-
Adair is the name of Analeise and John's firstborn daughter. She's been coming to market with her mother since she was small. That fact that a brand carries her name is a declaration about what this company is built for.
-
Thomas is their family name. Simple as that. When Analeise and John named a brand after themselves, they were putting their name on something they'd stand behind completely.
-
The pilgrimage town in France where miracles are said to happen, Lourdes, is an ode to the Catholic faith that anchors the Thomas family. A name chosen with humility and intention.
-
Le Marais is the historic Parisian district spanning the 3rd and 4th arrondissements, where Analeise spent much of her time while living in Paris from 2009 to 2010. The narrow streets, art galleries, layered history, and quiet elegance of the neighborhood became the inspiration for the brand.
-
Sissy is what Analeise's family called her growing up and what she calls her daughter Adair today. A nickname passed from mother to daughter, carried forward with love. It felt like the only possible name for a children's brand born from the same family that built everything else.
Alluvial is building a deliberate portfolio of distinct brands under one roof, each with its own customer, aesthetic, and commercial identity.
The multi-brand model isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing different things well and staying close enough to each brand that none of them lose their soul in the process. We work with trusted factory partners across India, Turkey, China, and Peru, sourcing fabrics from Portugal, Italy, England, and beyond to create each collection with the right partners for its point of view.
THE APPROACH
A House of Brands
Each brand in the Alluvial portfolio is intentionally distinct. They don’t share an aesthetic, and they aren’t meant to. What they share is a standard: quality, fit, creativity, and a deep respect for the retailers and customers who carry and wear them.
“We’re building brands for the way we live. I create for myself and the women in my life and if none of us would reach for it, it doesn’t leave the office.”
—Analeise Thomas
